Zadie Smith, NYU
Zadie Smith is a novelist and essayist. She is the author of many books, including White Teeth, On Beauty, NW, and Changing My Mind. She has been praised for her dazzling style, sharp critical insight, her ear for satire and comedy, and for her willingness to confront, in fiction and in essays, conflicts over class, race, art, and ideology. She has written on immigrant London and the American university, E.M. Forster and Facebook. She is the winner of the Orange Prize for Fiction and the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, and a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. She is a professor at NYU.
