Prof. Fauvelle is a member of France’s Collège de France and a leading historian and archealogist of ancient and medieval Africa with over a dozen books on the topic, including the award-winning The Golden Rhinoceros: Histories of the African Middle Ages. He is a Princeton Council of Humanities Distinguished Visiting Professor during spring 2020.
