Tuesday, May 17, 2016

At a spectacular formal soirée under the great dome of London's Victoria and Albert Museum last night, Boyd Tonkin awarded the 2016 Man Booker International Prize for Fiction to The Vegetarian by Korean author Han Kang, translated by the amazing Deborah Smith. David Bellos was there to congratulate all the short-listed authors and, less publicly, to take pleasure from the fact that The Vegetarian is already on the syllabus at Princeton as one of the Great Books from Little Languages being taught this fall as COM 351.
